Programs

We are looking forward to spending a year of discovery and joy with your child. We will spend the year playing, sharing and making new friends. Your child will have opportunities to experience art, music, math, science and language arts in an atmosphere of Christian love and acceptance.

Under Three-Year Old

This program is for children who turn at least 18 months old by September 30th. The Under Threes class is usually the child’s first experience attending an organized activity without a parent. We encourage cooperative play and help the children develop appropriate social skills. Most important to this age group is the loving, caring atmosphere that exists in the classroom.

Weekly themes revolve around seasonal topics and holiday themes, while incorporating concepts such as colors, shapes, alphabet letters, and counting. The morning routine involves free play, craft projects, circle time, snack time, large motor skill group activities, music, and story time. Our main goal is that the children are happy and excited to be in school.

Children attend two mornings a week; Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.  We have 2 classrooms…one for the younger children (approximately 18-23 month olds) and one for the older children (2 year olds).

This program is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare.

Three-Year Old

To attend this class your child must have turned three prior to September 30th of the school year for which you are registering and be completely toilet trained. While socialization and play make up an important part of a child’s day, more structure is added. Some of the experiences provided are exploration of colors, numbers, shapes, and music.  Class size is limited to fourteen and these students attend school two or three mornings a week; Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday.

Four-Year Old

This class places a greater emphasis on the development of listening skills, fine motor skills and readiness skills that are necessary for a successful kindergarten year.  During the year your child will explore letters and their sounds, counting, nutrition, science, storybook characters, senses, opposites, drama, animals and the environment.  We use music, cooking, art and invited guests to enhance our themes.  Class size is limited to sixteen and these students attend preschool on Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings or Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday mornings.

Older Four & Five-Year Olds

The Older-4’s and 5’s class is the foundation of many things your child will learn in kindergarten. During the year, we explore weekly themes that focus on math, science, social studies, literacy, and kid-writing.

Students turning five before November 30th are eligible for Older 4’s and 5’s.  Preference is given to students who have already completed our 4 year old program.

This class meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Class size is limited to eighteen.  NEW FOR 2023-2024: This class has an Extended Day option.  All students will be in the same class as usual for the morning, but parents can choose to either pick them up at 12:00 or have them stay until 2:00.  Extended Day students would need to bring a lunch each day.  The Extended Day option would include lunchtime, an additional recess, and more learning opportunities.  More information on the cost can be found under the “Resources” tab.
